Shield win over Dromahair
In the Shield on Friday in Dromahair Michael Moyles side beat the home side by 3-15 to 0-8 in a match Annaduff dominated from start to finish. Annaduff had scored 2-5 before Dromahair opened their account in the 19th minutes. At the break Annaduff playing with the wind led by 2-8 to 0-4. Although the home side came more into the game in the second half Annaduff playing good possession football never looked in danger eventually winning by 16 points. Annaduffs goals came from Colm Cox, David Duignan and Seamus Mulvihill. Defeat in Division 4
In Division 4 in Annaduff we we beaten by a much superior Leitrim Gaels by 0-17 to 1-4.Johnny O’Connor opened the scoring with a point after 2 minutes however it was downhill after that with Leitrim Gaels in control, our only other score of the first half came from Niall Maxwell with a point in the 24th minute. Leitrim led at half time by 0-7 to 0-2. Marcus Guckian showed his soccer skills with a well taken goal in the 33rd minute. Our only other points came from Niall Maxwell.Best for Annaduff were Dylan Kane and Niall Maxwell.We wish Daniel Duignan a speedy recovery from an injury received early in the first half. In the Shield on Saturday in Ballinaglera Annaduff beat the home side by 1-15 to 1-9 in a match where Ballinagera proved very tough opposition and were unlucky to be beaten by six points although Annaduff were always the better team . Annaduff led at half time by 1-9 to 0-4 with Ballinaglra scoring from the penalty spot in the 29th minute. Ballinaglera reduced Annaduffs lead to three points by the 56th minute however two points in the final minutes from Sean McNabola secured the win for Terry McGuinness side. In a poor match in Division 3 in Annaduff on Saturday evening Annaduff deservadly beat Leitrim Gaels by 1-7 to 0-7.Annaduff opened the scoring with a Ciaran McLoughlin point. Our secomd score came from the impressive debutant Michael Moyles. Ronan McCormack got our third point in the 26th minute. Johnny O’Connor then scored from a free. Annaduff’s goal came in the 28th minute from Cathal Cox after an assist from Michael Moyles.The goal left Annaduff leading at the break by 1-4 to 0-2. Leitrim Gaels were better in the second half but never looked like winning. Annaduff’s second half points came from former Mayo star Moyles with two and a point from Seamus Mulvihill. Substitute Niall Maxwell scored a point followed by a point from the impressive Dylan Kane. Then into injury time Fergus Beirne slotted a beauty into the net. Almost immediately Niall Maxwell got a second goal to pull off a very unlikely victory.Allen Gaels led at half time by 1-2 to 0-3 with their goal coming in the 28th minute.They were the better team in the second half before Annaduff’s great finish. Division 1 Annaduff V Bornacoola

Annaduff won the local derby in the Park on Saturday giving a very professional performance winning by 1-15 to 0-8.This was a great improvement from the performance against Aughawillan last week.The scoreline tells the story as Annaduff were much the better team althrough. Ray Cox opened the scoring with a point in the 3rd minute. Michael Duignan got the Bors opener in the 12th minute, almost immediately David O’Connor gave the visitors the lead.Ray Cox and Sean McKeon exchanged points. Ronan McCormack then gave Annaduff the lead with Philip Howard equalising.Colm Cox then got the crucial score with a goal in the 24th minute after good work by Sean McNabola and Ray Cox.Annaduff got the last four points before half time from Joe Cox, Ronan McCormack, Sean McNabola and Alan Cox and at half time Annaduff were in command leading by 1-8 to 0-4.The second half was similar to the first with the home side making few mistakes and always looking assured with David McHugh having his best match in years.Annaduff outscored Bornacoola by 0-7 to 0-4 in the second period, our second half points came from Matty Cox, Ray Cox with two, Joe Cox with two and a point from David McHugh.. Aughawillan were the opposition in Division 1 away on Saturday with Annaduff losing by
1-9 to 1-13.Augawillan completely dominated the early exchanges leading by 1-5 to 0-1 after 11 minutes.Ciaran Gilheaney scoring their goal.Annaduff came more into the game afterwards although they were still six points down at the interval with the score at 1-8 to 0-5.Matty Cox received a second yellow followed by a red card in the 29th minute.Joe Cox gave Annaduff a glimmer of hope with a well taken goal in the 42nd minute.Sean McNabola from a 45′ and Padraic Carroll with a long range effort got excellent points however Aughawillan easily held out and were deserving winners by four points. We wish the Aughawillan players injured on Saturday a speedy recovery. We were beaten 2-13 to 2-8 by St. Mary’s in Park Lane on Sunday.Annaduff led by 2-0 to 0-2 after 6 minutes with two excellent goals from Niall Maxwell and Dan Reilly. Marys were the dominant team however and led by 2-9 to 2-2 at the break and their lead would have been more only for a superb save by Jim McCormack in the 20th minute. Annaduff showed more spirit in the second half but were always fighting an uphill struggle against a superior St. Mary’s. Ballinaglera led by three points after 20 minutes however by half time Annaduff went in leading by 0-6 to 0-5. The second half was a very tight affair and Ballinaglera cause was not helped when Rory McPartland received a red card card after 50 minutes with the visitors leading by a point almost immediately Gus Garvey pointed for Annaduff . In a volatile match played in the Shield in Annaduff on Saturday evening, Allen Gaels beat Annaduff by 0-9 to 0-6. The teams were level at 0-5 each at the break. Annaduff’s first half points came from Colm Cox with two, Cathal Cox with two and a point from Sean McNabola.Annaduff were severly weakened when star midfielder Brendan Guckian received a red card after 13 minutes.Allen Gaels were the better side in the second half outscoring the home side by 0-4 to 0-1. Under 14 League ( Win over Bors)

In the under 14 league on Saturday we beat Bornacoola by 7-8 to 2-3. The Annaduff back-line of Reddan , McHugh,Egan and Guckian worked well together and only conceded three scores from play in the entire match. James Doherty and Conor Cronin were effective in midfield and all of the strarting forwards Murray, Morrison , O’Hagan and Farrell registered on the scoresheet.Bors kept in touch for long periods of this match but like last week Annaduff midway through the second half found an extra gear.

In Cloone on Friday night we lost to St.Mary’s by 2-6 to 2-4 in a match that looked more like Division 1 than Division 3, despite two superb goals by “man of the match” Ronan McCormack. McCormacks goals came in the 20th and 38th minute.St. Marys dominated the early exchanges and led by 1-1 to 0-0 after 10 minutes however by half time the teams were level at 1-3 each . The second half was equally a tight affair with Mary’s emerging winners by two points.

Division 3 V Allen Gaels

 

In a dour encounter in Annaduff on Sunday we got our Division 2 campaign off to a winning start by beating Allen Gaels by 2-8 to 1-5.Annaduff completely dominated the first half and led by 2-4 to 1-0 at the break. Annaduff’s goals came from Ciaran McLoughlin after 16 minutes and a Michael Rowley goal from a ’45 after 25 minutes.Allen Gaels got their goal after a mix up in the Annaduff defence in the 29th minute. The second half saw Allen Gaels come more into the match however the result was never in doubt . Allen Gaels got a penalty in the 50th minute but Barry Daly saved a poorly taken spot kick.

At the draw held in McLoughlin’s, there was no Jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 7,8,13 and 21.he €50 winner was Joe Toolan, Annaduff. The €25 winners were Dorothy O’Connor, Killyfad, Edel Shanley, Ballygeeher, Paul McNamara, Cloone, Seamus Farrell, Drumsna. The next draw will be held in The Vibe, Dromod on Sunday night next with a Jackpot of €1,700.
