Division 1 V Aughawillan

Aughawillan were the opposition in Division 1 away on Saturday with Annaduff losing by
1-9 to 1-13.Augawillan completely dominated the early exchanges leading by 1-5 to 0-1 after 11 minutes.Ciaran Gilheaney scoring their goal.Annaduff came more into the game afterwards although they were still six points down at the interval with the score at 1-8 to 0-5.Matty Cox received a second yellow followed by a red card in the 29th minute.Joe Cox gave Annaduff a glimmer of hope with a well taken goal in the 42nd minute.Sean McNabola from a 45′ and Padraic Carroll with a long range effort got excellent points however Aughawillan easily held out and were deserving winners by four points. We wish the Aughawillan players injured on Saturday a speedy recovery. Our under 14′s continued their winning run in the league on Friday away to neighbours Bornacoola winning by 7-5 to 2-5

Division 4 defeat to St.Mary’s

We were beaten 2-13 to 2-8 by St. Mary’s in Park Lane on Sunday.Annaduff led by 2-0 to 0-2 after 6 minutes with two excellent goals from Niall Maxwell and Dan Reilly. Marys were the dominant team however and led by 2-9 to 2-2 at the break and their lead would have been more only for a superb save by Jim McCormack in the 20th minute. Annaduff showed more spirit in the second half but were always fighting an uphill struggle against a superior St. Mary’s. Best for Annaduff were Jim McCormack, Ronan Conroy, Conor McLoughlin, Alan Glancy, Dan Reilly and especially the tireless Derek Cox.
