All County Quiz

Leitrim G.A.A are running an All County General Knowledge Quiz with heats in Smyths, Ballinamore on November 6, Gurns, Manorhamilton on November 13, Paddys Bar, Carrick on November 20 and Leixlip Club on November 25. The Grand Final will take place in Cox’s Steakhouse Bar, Dromod on December 4. The prize fund is €1,000. Starting Time in all venues is 8.30pm.

Under 21 “ B” Championship

Glenfarne/ Kilty – 4-12 – Annaduff -1-5

In a match played under wet and windy conditions on Leitrim Gaels excellent pitch on Saturday Glenfarne/Kilty were easy winners over a poor Annaduff by 4-12 to 1-5.Glenfarne/Kilty won this game in the five minute spell before half time when they scored three goals in rapid succession. Annaduff started well and led by 0-5 to 0-1 after 20 minutes however Glenfarne then took over and the three goals before the break came from Pauric Sweeney, Nigel Clancy and a Fergal Clancy penalty . The half time score was Glenfarne/Kilty 3-4 to Annaduff’s 0-5.Two minutes after the resumption Niall Clancy got Glenfarne/Kilty fourth goal to end the match as a contest. Enda McHugh got Annaduff a cosolation goal after 50 minutes their first score in 30 minutes . Glenfarne/Kilty finished the match with six unanswered points to run out desrving winners by 16 points . Best for an impressive Glenfarne/Kilty were Ronan McGowan, Shane Ferguson the Clancy brothers Fergal and Niall at midfield and Pauric Sweeney and Diarmuid Clancy up front. On a poor Annaduff only Gary Bohan, Enda McHugh and Sean McNabola impressed .

League Round Up

We finished 8th in Division 1 with 10 points from 11 games. We won 5 and lost 6, scored 10-87 and conceded 11-89 with a points difference of minus 5. We were relegated in Division 2 and Division 3.

Junior “ B” Championship Final


In a very entertaining match , we took the Junior “ B “ title by beating a gallant Allen Gaels by 3-14 to 1-11 in Ballinamore on Saturday evening. The first half was terrible but a superb second half more than made up for this. The Gaels led by 0-6 to 0-4 at the break a lead that on the run of play they probably deserved. Gerry Newton’s half time talk worked wonders as Annaduff were a different team after the break. After good work by Cian Ward, Gus Garvey got a goal after 31 minutes, four minutes later man of the match Ciaran McLoughlin got a second Annaduff goal. Allen Gaels got a fortunate o.g after 41 minutes however three minutes later Enda McHugh scored from the spot after a foul on Seamus Mulvihill. This gave Annaduff a six point lead with sixteen minutes remaining and they easily held to win by nine points.    Annaduff : Jim McCormack, Padraig McGlynn, Thomas Flanagan,Peadar Beirne, Ronan Cox, Martin Faughnan ( Capt), Daniel Duignan, Gerry Newton , Sean Maxwell ( 0-2) , Seamus Mulvihill, Enda McHugh(1-4),Cian Ward , Ciaran McLoughlin ( 1-4),Gus Garvey ( 1-4), Padraig Dunne. Junior “ B” Championship Semi Final

Despite shooting seventeeen wides we qualified for the final of the Junior “B” Championship by beating Aughavas by 1-10 to 1-07 in Dromod on Sunday. Aughavas dominated the early exchanges and led by four points after 23 minutes however a strong finish to the first half by Annaduff left only one point between the sides at the break Aughavas leading by 0-6 to 0-5. Aughavas got the first goal of the match after forty minutes . Gus Garvey got Annaduffs goal after good work by Ciaran McLoughlin after 44 minutes. A Seamus McBrien point after 45 minutes left the sides level at 1-7 each. Annaduff however finished the stronger scoring the last three points from Ciaran McLoughlin, Gerry Newton and Enda McHugh.


Thomas Flanagan had an excellent game at full back where he did an excellent marking job on Padraig McLoughlin, others to impress were Daniel Duignan, Martin Faughnan, Enda McHugh, Ciaran McLoughlin and Gus Garvey while our midfielders Gerry Newton and Sean Maxwell despite been in trouble early on finished the game dominating midfield. Annaduff : Jim McCormack, Peadar Beirne, Thomas Flanagan,Padraig McGlynn Daniel Duignan, Martin Faughnan ( Capt), Ronan Cox, Gerry Newton ( 0-1), Sean Maxwell , Seamus Mulvihill, Enda McHugh(0-4),Cian Ward , Ciaran McLoughlin ( 0-4),Gus Garvey ( 1-1), Padraig Dunne.
