Smith Monumentals IFC: The excitement is building around the Parish as Karl Foleys men get ready to take on Fenagh in the Intermediate Championship final on Sunday next the 14th October at 1pm in Pairc Sean McDiarmuid Carrick on Shannon. We want to see all the flags up and lots of support in Carrick. To get the weekend off to a sporty start Annaduff GAA proudly presents “Up for the Match” Join us for a night of music, fun and interviews with past players and special guests. Kick off is at 9.30pm in The Brandywell, Dromod on Saturday 13th of October. MC on the night will be Mr Donal Fox. Everyone welcome.

Hard luck to our U15s who were defeated by St Josephs in Carrigallen on Friday evening last. The Annaduff lads had a very good first half but a couple of early goals in the second half for St Josephs seen them finish strong.

The Joe Flynn tournament: Well done to our U12s team that took part in the blitz in St Marys Carrick on Shannon on Saturday last. Playing Fenagh, Castlebar Mitchells and Corofin unfortunately the lads didnt progress to the finals, but well done to all involved.

Mothers & Others: The Annaduff Mothers & Others travelled to Naomh Mearnog GAA Club Portmarnock Dublin on Saturday last where they played Naomh Eoin ( Antrim), Tuam Cortoon ( Galway), Moylagh ( Meath) and Mullinalaghta (Longford) they won four out of five games. The talent in Annaduff just keeps giving !!! Well done Ladies.

Training Session: Our senior lads done some warm up training with our U15s on Sunday morning. Great too see them warming up together and getting a few tips on kick passes etc. #Thefuturestars.

Smith Monumentals IFC: There was a great buzz around the Parish on Sunday evening last as Karl Foleys men over came Eslin in the Intermediate semi final in Pairc Sean McDiarmuid, Carrick On Shannon.
After already been promoted to Division 1 in the league for next year. We now face Fenagh in the final on Sunday October 14th at 1pm and hopefully get back to Senior Championship ranks for 2019. So get the flags out around Dromod, Drumsna and Annaduff and support the lads.
Also we would like to welcome back Gary Bohan to the team, who was injured early this year.

Well done and congratulations to the boys who took part in the U13s regional competition final under lights in Cloone last week. Over coming Lough Allen region with a full time score of Carrick area 5-14 to Lough Allen area 4-05 Team lead by Captain Darren Cox, also had Eoghan Ridge and Liam McNamee also congratulations to their team members from Carrick and Gortletteragh.

Annaduff National School:
Well done to the boys who won their group in the mini 7s football competition during the week with wins over Carrick NS, Bornacoola NS, and the Gael Scoil and a draw with Mohill NS.

New Arrival:
Congratulation to David and Mairead Conroy, Bofin ave, Dromod on the birth of their latest member to the family a baby boy called Bobby. I’m sure big brother Oscar would have an Annaduff jersey to fit him soon, Best wishes !!.

Tidy Towns:
Congratulation to Drumsna and Dromod villages on the results of the tidy towns last week.
Despite Carrick on Shannon taking top spot by one point. Dromod still got a very high rating at 328 points and Drumsna on 310 points. We are so lucky in the parish of Annaduff to have not one but two vibrant and wonderfully well kept Villages.

Wedding Bells:
Congratulations to former Annaduff ladies player Rachelle O’Connor and her new husband Enda McHugh who hails from Cloone on their wedding on Friday last. Best wishes for your future together.

Underage:
With winter approaching that time of year when our smaller members wind down on training. Last Saturday sees the last training session for the U9s and 7s for 2018 but no doubt, lots of football will be played in school over the winter. Many thanks goes to our dedicated Coaches and also the parents for travelling around to games and for helping with the catering over the year. Our club just could not be as successful without your help so many thanks for that.

Fr Kevin Sullivan:
Well done Cllr Sinead Guckian and the Drumsna Development association members on the official opening of the Fr. Kevin Sullivan Memorial Garden on Sunday last along with the new play ground. Credit goes to all involved. Looks beautiful and well worth a visit as well as a superb play area for the kids.

Annaduff Family Fun Day 2018:

The 5th Annual Annaduff Family Fun Day took place on Sunday the 12th of August.
This years Charity Partner was Pieta House. We are extremely grateful to the Community in Annaduff and beyond who have support this event annually and have helped make it so successful. A cheque will be presented to Pieta house in the coming weeks for massive €6260.

Newtown Engineering Under 17s Championship:

Hard luck to our U17s as they bow out of the Championship after been defeated in the semi final by Melvin Gaels on Wednesday (22nd) in Bundoran.
The club wish to sincerely thanks the lads efforts and commitment over the year and as the older lads will move onto to the Junior and senior level next year its great to see a new crop of talented lads coming through. Also big thank you to their mentors Daniel Duignan and Mathew Reynolds.

Best Wishes: Annaduff GAA would like to wish Joe O’Carroll and his family best wishes as they move from Dromod Village to Dublin. Joe leaves the Club and Parish to transfer to Kilmacud Crokes. Joe played with our underage up to U17s and also played football with the Leitrim development squad.

Annaduff Family Fun Day 2018:
The 5th Annual Annaduff Family Fun Day takes place on Sunday next the 12th of August.
This years Charity Partner is Pieta House. We are extremely grateful to the Community in Annaduff and beyond who have support this event annually and have helped make it so successful.
This year, the theme is Farm Safety as the majority of our patrons young and old are from family farms have access to or interact with farms we feel that the fun day is an ideal platform to remind and educate all, on the dangers farms present in a discreet but impacting manner. The Farm Safety feature will take the form of numerous live presentations and demonstrations, conducted by guest speakers, in a safe and controlled environment. On the day among others, a sample of our speakers is as follows:
PETER GOHARY:Peter is a nationally recognised authority on Health and Safety.
ALMA JORDAN – Agri-kids: Alma hails from Co. Kildare and in 2014 set up her own business, “Agri Kids” to teach children about Farm Safety.
Other events: We will also host the biggest underage football blitz in Leitrim.
Kids games & competitions.
Shoebox of books sale.
Cake sale, hot food, ice cream, demonstration stands and much, much more.

Clothes collection: Thanks again to all who dropped off Clothes bags. We will be finishing collecting this Saturday 11th of August. All types of clothes, shoes, old bags, belts, curtains, bed linen etc. Cant take duvets or pillows. Drop off to Annaduff GAA on Saturday Morning from 10am to 11am. Anyone around the Village that has bags to be collected we would be delighted to collect them for you. Annaduff Family Fun Day 2018:
Farm safety demonstrations at Annaduff family day on August 12th in Annaduff GAA ground. Event commences at 2pm. Practical live demonstrations highlighting how simple farm accidents are happening using tractors, and connected machinery, presented by Peter Gohery, trained safety instructor, who himself suffered severe injuries in a farm accident. Guest speakers include: Thomas Crowe, Veterinary Surgeon, Brian Beirne, advanced paramedic and Sean Scollan. For the children a specially tailored presentation by Alma Jordan of Agrikids running through the afternoon. Subject to availabilty an air ambulance helicopter will participate in the event.
Raffle tickets are on sale now with tickets available from Coaches, FFD Committee members, Senior players – Both Ladies and Mens team and in Coxs Steakhouse Dromod. As usual, over half of the proceeds are donated to a nominated Charity and this years Charity Partner is Pieta House. First prize is a Whopper, A trip to London for 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children including day passes to Madame Tussauds, London Eye, The Shrek experience, Sea life and tickets for a show. And 5 other prizes,,,,,

Barna Recycling Under 13s Championship: Annaduff Under 13’s played Mohill in the 3rd round of the 15 aside Championship in Annaduff on Thursday last. Mohill had the better start to the match going 4 points up before Annaduff got their first score which was followed almost immediately by their second score. Mohill scores another point before Darren scored point which quickly followed by goal to leave it 1.03-0.04. Both team swapped points before Mohill got a goal of their own to go two points up. Annaduff pulled a point back before Mohill scored their second goal. Annaduff did not let their heads drop and continued to take point to leave the half time score as Annaduff 1.07-2.05 Mohill
Annaduff had a great start to the second half scoring an early goal and point but in fairness to Mohill they scored another goal and point of their own. They continued to swap points before Peter Moran drove a low hard shot into the Mohill net to put Annaduff two points up. These were two evenly matched teams who provided the supporters with a fine display of football.

Annaduff Family Fun Day 2018: The Annaduff Family Fun Day takes place on the 12th of August next and is entering its 5th year. It is now an established date, in the local diary. The Committee have been busy putting this years event together and we are sure you will not be disappointed.  As usual, over half of the days proceeds are donated to a nominated Charity and this years Charity Partner is Pieta House. Raffle tickets are now on sale for the draw which will take place in Coxs Dromod on the night. First prize trip to London for 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 children including day passes to Madame Tussauds, London Eye, The Shreak experience, Sea life and tickets for a show. And 5 other great prizes,,,,,

We will also be looking for volunteers for the big day, keep it in mind folks.

Clothes collection: Thanks again to all who dropped off Clothes bags. We will continue until Saturday 11th of August.  All types of clothes, shoes, old bags, belts, curtains, bed linen etc. Cant take duvets or pillows. Drop off to Annaduff GAA on Saturday Morning from 10am to 11am. Anyone that has bags to be collected we would be delighted to collect them for you. Dunnes Bar Division 2 League: Congratulations our D2 team on promotion to Division 1 for 2019. Following what can only be described as a tough, close encounter with Dromahair on Saturday last in Annaduff. In what was winner takes all, in the last round of the league. Very defensive football from both sides with a half time score of only 0-5 a piece and this continued to the bitter end, finishing with a 10 point each draw. Which was enough to push Annaduff over the line to finish top of D2 and guarantee promotion for next session. Super result a lot of very proud Annaduff people left the field on Saturday.  Well done to the full squad & management of Karl Foley, Michael Rowley, Padraig Dunne and Terry McGuinness.

Newtown Engineering Under 17s Championship: Our U17s were away to Glencar-Manor on Wednesday last with a couple of lads injured and away, left our side weakened but none the less there was some great football played. Full time score Glencar-manor 1-13 Annaduff 2-06

Barna Recycling Under 13s Championship: Our U13s travelled to Glencar-Manor on Thursday last in the second round of the D1 Championship.  A very tough, physical game with our side coming away with the 2 points with a full time score Glencar-Manor 2-04 Annaduff 2-05, well done boys !!!.

Under 11 Boys: Well done to our U11’s who travelled to Drumkeeran on Saturday morning last. Coming off the back of a tough U13 game on Thursday night, all players did really well and as usual, tried really hard. We had three competitive games on the day Drumkeeran, Melvin Gaels & St Josephs(Aughavas/Carrigallen), with all players getting a chance to play in different positions. Some excellent passing movements displayed, brilliant defending and some great scores.
