Division 1 V Carrigallen
We opened our League campaign away to Carrigallen on Saturday winning by 1-10 to 0-9 in a game that was always entertaining and well contested. Carrigallen started off much the better and inspired by Ciaran Flynn who scored the first four points led by 0-4 to 0-0 before county star Ray Cox opened Annaduff’s account in the 25th minute with a goal after a superb defence splitting pass from Ronan McCormack. Flynn replied with his fifth point . Alan Cox pointed in the 27th minute with Ray Cox finishing the half with two pointed frees to leave Annaduff leading at the break by 1-3 to 0-5. The second half started with Ray Cox and Noel Doonan exchanging points. Brendan Guckian and Ray Cox got two points to give Annaduff a three points cushion after 38 minutes. Annaduff were awarded a penalty after forty minutes for a foul on Joe Cox however Brendan Guckian’s well struck shot just went wide.Annaduff’s remaining second half points came from Ray Cox, Brendan Guckian, Gus Garvey and the impressive David McHugh to give the visitors a deserved if hard earned four points win. This was a good opening performance that will give confidence for the rest of the League.

Defeat in Division 4
Despite leading and dominating the first half we were well beaten by Aughnasheelin by 2-12 to 1-8 in Aughnasheelin on Sunday last. Annaduff’s goal in the first period was scored by Gus Garvey in the 13th minute. The score at half time was Annaduff 1-4 to Aughnasheelin’s 1-2 with Alan Glancy scoring four points in his debut at adult level. Aughnasheelin dominated the second half outscoring Annaduff by 1-10 to 0-4 to run out worthy winners.

Challenge V Shannon Gaels 20th Feb 2011

 

Our first team had a good workout over the weekend against a Shannon Gaels selection played in blustery conditions on our club pitch.

Player Registration

We registered a large number of club players for the 2011 season in  our clubhouse on Sunday. Senior and underage players who have not registered and wish to train or play with the club this year should contact Niall Lyons, Denny Dockery or Barry Guckian as soon as possible.

A.G.M
The A.G.M takes place on Sunday next February 6th at 2 pm. All members and intending new members are requested to attend.

Annaduff Ladies Underage need your Help
They have entered the “Kit for Kids” competition run by the Daily Star and they need to collect 250 mastheads showing data and barcode from January 20th to February 3rd to win a set of jerseys for the underage players. Contact Mary Shanley for more details.

Lotto
There was no Jackpot winner at the draw held in Cox’s Steakhouse. The numbers drawn were 1,4,8 and 15.The €50 winner was Marguerite O’Donohoe, Dublin. The €25 winners were Matty Cox, Antfield, Brendan Burke, Kilmore,Tom Flanagan, Mohill and Bernadette Faughnan, Finnelaughta.The next draw will be held in Taylor’s on Sunday night next with a Jackpot of €1,400.

Scor Sinsear
Scor Sinsear is once again coming around. If you would like to represent the Parish at either Solo Singing, Ballad Group, Novelty Act, Recitation, Sean Nos Dancing, Music Group and Set Dancing. Contact Edwina at 086 1649989.

Annaduff GFC AGM

We are holding our AGM on Sunday 30th January at 2pm in the club house.

Annaduff Parish and G.A.A Lotto

At the draw held in Duignan’s, there was no Jackpot winner.The numbers drawn were 2,3,16 and 24. The winner of €150 was Mary Cox. €50 was won by Triona Quigley.The €25 winners were Felix Doherty, Vin Colquith, Joe Cox, Nicola McNamara, John McHugh, Ellen Hennessy, Dermot Faughnan, Micheal Guckian.

Annaduff G.A.A Fundraising Draw

Due to bad weather etc, our draw is postponed until March 19th and we are huping that everyone in the parish and surrounding areas will support us.

6th to 15th Prize- €100 each.
Tickets €20 each or 3 for €50.

Sympathy

Deepest Sympathy is extended to the Flanagan family on the death of Mrs. Kathleen Flanagan and to the Gaffney family on the death of Mrs. Rose Gaffney. May they rest in Peace.
