Division 1 V Carrigallen
We opened our League campaign away to Carrigallen on Saturday winning by 1-10 to 0-9 in a game that was always entertaining and well contested. Carrigallen started off much the better and inspired by Ciaran Flynn who scored the first four points led by 0-4 to 0-0 before county star Ray Cox opened Annaduff’s account in the 25th minute with a goal after a superb defence splitting pass from Ronan McCormack. Flynn replied with his fifth point . Alan Cox pointed in the 27th minute with Ray Cox finishing the half with two pointed frees to leave Annaduff leading at the break by 1-3 to 0-5. The second half started with Ray Cox and Noel Doonan exchanging points. Brendan Guckian and Ray Cox got two points to give Annaduff a three points cushion after 38 minutes. Annaduff were awarded a penalty after forty minutes for a foul on Joe Cox however Brendan Guckian’s well struck shot just went wide.Annaduff’s remaining second half points came from Ray Cox, Brendan Guckian, Gus Garvey and the impressive David McHugh to give the visitors a deserved if hard earned four points win. This was a good opening performance that will give confidence for the rest of the League.

Defeat in Division 4
Despite leading and dominating the first half we were well beaten by Aughnasheelin by 2-12 to 1-8 in Aughnasheelin on Sunday last. Annaduff’s goal in the first period was scored by Gus Garvey in the 13th minute. The score at half time was Annaduff 1-4 to Aughnasheelin’s 1-2 with Alan Glancy scoring four points in his debut at adult level. Aughnasheelin dominated the second half outscoring Annaduff by 1-10 to 0-4 to run out worthy winners.
