Division 1 V Mohill

In Cloone on Sunday last in very heavy conditions Annaduff inspired by a “Man of the Match” performance from David Duignan beat Mohill by 2-7 to 1-8 to secure two valuable points. Michael Moyles opened the scoring with a point in the 2nd minute. In the 10th minute Mohill got their first point from Barry Luptob, five miutes Ray Cox got Annaduff’s second point. Ml. Moyles then put Annaduff 0-3 to 0-1 ahead. Mohill got the next three scores two points and a Colm Beirne goal to leave them three points up however Annaduff finished the half very strongly with a Matty Cox goal followed by a superb goal from David Duignan in the 30th minute to leave Annaduff leading at the break by 2-3 to 1-3. Mohill got the first four points in the second half to lead by 1-7 to 2-3 after 45 minutes.Ml. Moyles steadied his ship with a point in the 46 minute.Ray Cox and Alan Cox got the next two points.Ronan Kennedy pointed for Mohill in the 58th minute with Colm Cox getting the insurance point for Annaduff deep into injury time. Division 1 V Glenfarne/Kilty

In Shannon Gaels beautiful pitch in Blacklion on Sunday last we beat Glenfarne/Kilty by 1-10 to 0-9 in a poor match.Annaduff were the better team in the first half and they led at the break by 0-6 to 0-2. Sean McNabola opened the scoring with a point in the 5th minute, Joe Cox added a second before Glenfarne/ Kilty got their opener in the 15th minute. Joe Cox got his second point before Ml. Rowley scored two excellent points from a “45″ and a long range free off the ground. Sean McNabola made it 0-6 to 0-1 with Glenfarne/Kilty getting the last point of the half in the 30th minute. Ray Cox got what proved a crucial goal in the 35th minute. Glenfarne/ Kilty got the next two points with Sean McNabola getting his third point in the 42nd minute.Glenfarne/ Kilty got the next three points. Ray Cox got a point in the 50th minute, in the following minute Glenfarne got a point to leave three points between the sides. Joe Cox got a red card in the 56th minute. Ml. Moyles pointed a free at the end of normal time . Junior Semi Final

Annaduff lost to Melvin Gaels inspired by Peter McGowan who scored 1-7 in the Junior Semi Final in Drumshanbo on Saturday evening by 3-8 to 1-9. Melvin Gaels were the better team and deserved their victory.Annaduff’s best player Ml. Rowley opened the scoring with a point in the 2nd minute. Seamus Mulvihill added another point in the 5th minute. Melvin Gaels got the next three scores, a pointed free from Peter McGowan, a goal from Fergal Gallagher in the 9th minute and a further point from play from Peter McGowan.Ronan Conroy got a lovely point for Annaduff from a very acute angle.The impressive Peter McGowan scored three points in succession for the North Leitrim team. The final point of the half came from Jessie McGuinness to leave the half time score Melvin Gaels 1-7 to Annaduff’s 0-3. Annaduff had the wind advantage in the second period, Peter McGowan pointed a free for the Gaels in the 32nd minute. Ml. Rowley pointed a free for Annaduff, Seamus Mulvihill added another. Annaduff were dealt a cruel blow when full back Chris Farrell received a red in the 44th minute. Three minutes later Declan Roper got a goal for Melvin Gaels.Ml. Rowley pointed a free for Annaduff followed by a well taken Micheal O’Dowd goal.Colm Cox added a point and Ml. Rowley got two more points to leave the score at the end of normal time Melvin Gaels 2-8 to Annaduff’s 1-9. The match ended as a contest when Melvin Gaels were awarded a penalty a minute into added time. The penalty was expertly converted by Peter McGowam to leave Melvin Gaels winners by 3-8 to 1-9. We had a one point win 1-10 to 0-12 over Glencar/ Manor in Belcoo on Sunday last in Division 1. Championship Semi Final v St Marys

We lost to St. Mary’s by a point 1-11 to 1-10 in an excellent and exciting semi final on Saturday in Pairc Sean. Mary’s started very strongly and had scored 1-1 before Ml. Moyles opened Annaduff’s account with a point in the 10th minute. Annaduff dug deep and were the better team for the rest of the first half. Ml. Moyles added two further points, Joe Cox a point. In the 20th minutes Ray Cox scored a fine individual goal.Joe Cox added a point in the 27th minute and the very impressive Ml. Moyles scored two more points before the break. Annaduff led at the interval by 1-7 to 1-3, a scoreline that looked very unlikely early on.Mary’s started the second half strongly getting five points in succession and by the 40th minute they led by a point.Alan Cox scored a point for Annaduff in the 48th minute.Carrick got a point to go one point up again. Ml.Moyles scored a free to equalize. Ml. Lack of fitness was the major problem for our third team on Sunday as they lost to Dromahair by 2-14 to 0-5. The teams were level at 0-5 each at the break however a tired Annaduff failed to raise a flag in the second half.Annaduff’s points came from Gus Garvey with two, Seamus Mulvihill with two including a well taken “45″ and one fronm Gerard Cox. Connacht Gold Senior Championship Quarter Final Replay V Mohill

In a very impressive display Annaduff reached the semi final by beating Mohill in the replay by 2-13 to 2-8.Mohill started well getting the first two points . Ml. Moyles opened Annaduff’s account with a point. Joe Cox gave Annaduff a great boost with a well taken goal in the 8th minute. Ml. Rowley got two more points with Mohill’s Colm Beirne then getting three points in succession. Annaduff got the last three points before the break from Ml. Moyles and two from Ray Cox to leave Annaduff leading by 1-6 to 0-5. Mohill got the first point of the second half. Sean McNabola pointed a “45″ before Mohill struck back to level the match with a goal and a point. Annaduff now knew they faced a major test and they responded brilliantly wirh three points in succession two Joe Cox frees and a Sean McNabola point.Mohill came back with a point . Ml. Moyles pointed in the 22nd minute. Ray Cox goaled in the 24th minute, the same player pointed in the next minute to give Annaduff a seven point lead with five minutes remaining. Mohill got a rather lucky goal in the 58th minute before Joe Cox finished the scoring with a pointed free to give Annaduff a semi final spot against St. Mary’s. We created a major surprise by beating Championship favourites Leitrim Gaels in Pairc Sean on Sunday by 3-8 to 2-5, this result puts us in the semi final. Annaduff were the better team against a Leitrim Gaels team who were off form. Johnny O’Connor started the scoring with a well taken point in the 1st minute. Alan Glancy added two more points before Annaduff struck for two goals in a minute from Micheal O’Dowd and Niall Maxwell. Micheal O’Dowd added a point before the break to leave Annaduff leading at half time by 2-4 to 1-2. On the resumption Alan Glancy added two more points. In the 45th minutes Seamus Mulvihill got our third goal. Ronan Conroy and Seamus Mulvihill scored points to leave Kevin Ludlow’s team convincing winners by six points. Connacht Gold Senior Championship Quarter Final V Mohill ends in a draw

Annaduff looked to have booked a semi final spot as they were four points up into three of the allotted four minutes of injury time however a goal from John McGuinness and the equalising point from substitute Donal Flynn means a replay next weekend. The final Score was Annaduff 0-13 to Mohills 1-10. If this was a Boxing Match Annaduff would be declared winners on points as they were the better team over the 60 plus minutes however Mohill are a very skillful team with star performers in Ml. McGuinness and Shane Canning. In an evenly contested first half Annaduff led at the break by 0-6 to 0-5. Annaduff’s points in the first period came from Ml. Moyles with two and two from Ray and Alan Cox. Annaduff were awarded a penalty in the 26th minute, Sean McNabola hit the bottom of the upright with his well struck spot kick.The second half was equally well contested with Annaduff getting their points from Ml. Moyles with three and one each from Sean McNabola, Ronan McCormack, Alan Cox and Ray Cox.Despite only getting a draw Ml. Moyles and his selectors Gerry and Terry will be pleased with the all round impressive performance especially as Annaduff had three clear cut goal chances which they failed to convert, one from Ml. Junior “B” Championship

In the Junior “B” Championship we lost rather unluckily to Aughawillan in Fenagh on Sunday by 1-10 to 0-12.Aughawillan got the first two points before Seamus Mulvihill opened Annaduff’s accoubt with a point in the sixth minute. Mulvihill added another point a minute later. Our other points in the opening period came from Gus Garvey, Paul farrell and a third from Seamus Mulvihill. The score at the break was 0 -5 each.Annaduff got a penalty in the 33rd minute with Seamus Mulvihill sending the spot kick over the bar.Mulvihill and Gus Garvey added further points to put Annaduff three point ahead after 48 minutes.Two more points came from Paul Farrell who had a fine game and another Mulvihill point to leave Annaduff four points ahead with 15 minutes remaining. Aughawillan got a goal in the 46th minutes and points followed from Gerry Flanagan and Peter Prior. Sean Maxwell equalised with a long range point with Paul Farrell putting Annaduff ahead with a good point in the 51st minute. Aughawillan got the last two points to earn a one point victory. Gus Garvey was very unlucky to hit the upright with a goal bound shot in the final minute. Senior Championship V Ballinamore

We secured our place in the quarter finals with a hard earned win over Ballinamore in Carrick on Saturday evening by 0-12 to 1-7.Michael Moyles got Annaduff off to a good start with a point in the 3rd minute. Shane McWeeney equalised for Ballinamore before Matty Cox gave Annaduff the lead again with a well taken point.Ballinamore got the next three scores , two points and a goal in the 12th minute from Sean Murray to leave them four points ahead however at this stage Annaduff showed their true charachter and dug deep. They scored six points in succession before half time from Matty Cox, David McHugh and two each from Ray and Joe Cox to leave the score at the interval Annaduff 0-8 to Ballinamores 1-3.On the resumpion Sean McNabola scored a well taken long range free.Shane McWeeney and Joe Cox exchanged points before Ballinamore scored two points in the 40th and 43th minute. Michael Moyles got Annaduff back on track with a pointed free.In the 55th minute Conor McLoughlin scored a superb long range point .
