Division 4 V Aughavas

We were beaten by 1-17 to 2-4 by Aughavas in Aughavas on Sunday.

 

Underage Training

Annaduff underage training for boys under12, under 10,under 8, under 6 starts this Saturday at 11am in the Park.You must have registered before starting training, if you have not already done so you can register on the day.Registration costs 5 euro  and helps towards the cost of insurance.

Under 14’s Win

Our under 14’s kicked off their league campaign with a home win over Carrigallen on Saturday.Annaduff played a blistering opening five minutes scoring two goals and three points without reply.Carrigallen put up a spirited performance but when Shane Cox pulled off a stirring double save midway through the first half the visitors knew they were up against it.Next up is an away tie versus Kiltubrid.Annaduff :Shane Cox, David Faughnan, Michael Cox, Daire Guckian ( Capt.), Sean Quigley, Daragh Flanagan, Conor Cronin, Adam O’Hagan, Colm Murray, Kyle Mulvihill Farrell, Donal McNabola, Subs used : Oran Newton, Eamon Reddin, Eoin Moylan, Cian O’Loughlin, Jamie Dolan.

At the draw held in McLoughlin’s , there was no winner. Division 1 V Ballinamore Sean O’Heslin’s
It was an unlucky defeat for David Casey’s side at Ballinamore on Sunday last as Ballinamore won the match with a last minute goal flicked to the net by Adrian Smith. The final score was Ballinamore-1-10 – Annaduff -0-11. The wind was a big factor in the match , Ballinamore had the wind in the first period and were rather flattered by their half time lead of 0-8 to 0-4. Annaduff’s first half points were scored by Ray Cox, Sean McNabola, Karl Foley and Dylan Kane. Annaduff with wind advantage upped the anti at the start of the second half scoring the first three points from Sean McNabola and two from county star Ray Cox.Cathal Cox and Adrian Smith then exchanged points . Ray Cox equalized for Annaduff in the 41st. minute.Shane McWeeney and Dylan Kane scored points before Padraic Carroll with a long range effort gave Annaduff the lead however heartbreak for Annaduff with Smith’s goal in the final minute.

Division 2 V Eslin
We played our neighbours in Division 2 in Annaduff on Sunday and in a surprise result beat them by 1-10 to 2-3. Annaduff had a very good first half leading at the break by 1-6 to 2.0 with Niall Maxwell scoring 1-1 in this period. Eslin were stronger at the start of the second half and had drawn level by the 42nd minute. Annaduff then took over in a very spirited performance to get the last four points from Johnny O’Coonor, Kenny Cox, Cathal Cox and Dean Gill to earn two very valuable points. Division 1 V Glencar/Manor

Probably against the run of play Annaduff secured two very valuable points against the county champions in Annaduff under sticky ground conditions winning by 1-9 to 1-7.Gerry Hickey opened the scoring with a point for Manor . Ray Cox set up Padraic Carroll for a very well taken goal after 9 minutes, our only other score in the first half came from a point from play by Cathal Cox . Adrian Croal goaled for Glencar/ Manor after 13minutes. In the 20th minute Referee Seamus Mulhern gave a straight red card to Tomas McDonald.Manor replied with five points in a row two from James Glancy, two from Gerry Hickey and a point from Darren Sweeney to leave Manor leading by 1-5 to 1-1 at the interval.Sean McNabola and James Glancy exchanged points at the start of the second half.Sean McNabola then scored two points from frees and in the 50th minute Jim McCormack saved what looked like a certain Glencar/ Manor goal . In the 51st minute county star James Glancy gave the visitors a three point cushion however for the second week in a row David Casey’s side dug deep scoring the last five points with Sean McNabola getting three and points from Ray Cox and Ronan McCormack.

Division 1 win  V Glenfarne/Kilty

It was a win in the first competitive match for David Casey by 0-14 to 0-9 however the scoreline flatters Annaduff as apart from the last ten minutes Glenfarne/ Kilty were in contention. Ray Cox was on fire in the first half scoring five points. Padraig Sweeney for Glenfarne missed a penalty in the 6th minure while Jim McCormack made a great save to deny Glenfarne a goal in the 28th minute, Our other first half points came from Sean McNabola with two and a point from Cathal Cox, to leave the score at the break Annaduff 0-8 – Glenfarne/Kilty -0-6.Glenfarne/Kilty got the fist two points in the second half to leave the sides level at 0-8 each after 44 minutes. Annaduff dug deep and got six of the last seven points including five from Joe Cox to earn two valuable away points.
