Annaduff v Melvin Gaels

In a very entertaining match, we retained our Senior Championship status with a one point win over Melvin Gaels on a scoreline of 1-11 to 0-13 in Drumshanbo on Sunday.Derek Kellehers team started well with Kenny Cox almost through for a goal in the first minute almost immediately county star Ray Cox burst through for a fine individual goal.Sean McNabola pointed to leave Annaduff four points ahead after five minutes.Melvin Gaels got the next four points to draw level.Ray Cox got the next two points however the Gaels then replied with two points to put the teams level at 1-3 to 0-6.Annaduff got the next four points three from Sean McNabola and a long range point from David Duignan. Melvin Gaels got a pointed free in the 30th minute to leave the half time score Annaduff 1-7 – Melvin Gaels 0-7.Annaduff took a five point lead early in the second half with points from Sean McNabola and Kenny Cox however Melvin Gaels got the next three points to leave two points between the teams after 38 minutes.Kenny Cox and Sean McNabola pointed to give Annaduff a four point advantage with ten minutes remaining.The Gaels scored three points to leave the minimum between the sides however Annaduff held out for a vital and deserved win.Well done to Derek, Kevin , Terry and of course the players.

At the draw held in Coxs Steakhouse Bar, Dromod, there was no Jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 5,6,14,15. The E50 winner was Martin Harkin, Dromod. The E25 winners were John Byrne, Domod,Aoife Fox, Tommy McLoughlin, Drumsna,Banana Gang, Dublin.The next draw takes place on Sunday night next in Taylors of Drumsna with a Jackpot of E7,900.

 

Coffee Evening
