Annaduff GAA / Parish Lotto (Jackpot won)

At the draw held in the Brandywell, the numbers drawn were 7,18,17 and 22. The Jackpot of €2,200 was won by Caelen Newton, Fearnaught son of Evelyn and Gerry. The next draw will be held on Sunday night next in McLoughlin’s with a Jackpot of €1,000.

Division 1 Final

Despite a very committed and skillful performance from Annaduff,  Glencar/Manor emerged victorious by 0-10 to 0-9. Annaduff led from the first minute with a Sean McNabola point, Glencar/Manor got their first point after 9 minutes with Joe Cox pointing in the next minute to give Annaduff a lead they would hold until the 65thminute. Our other points in the first period came from Enda McHugh, Ray Cox and a second from Sean McNabola in the 30th minute. In this period Kevin Ludlow saved what looked to be a certain goal and Annaduff sufferd a serious loss with Brendan Guckian going off with a hamstring problem. Annaduff led at the break by 0-5 to 0-2. Enda McHugh made it 0-6 to 0-2 after 36 minutes. Annaduff’s other points in the second half were scored by Joe Cox and two great efforts from Enda McHugh and Fergal Carroll. Carroll’s point in the 59th minutes gave Annaduff a two point lead going into injury time. Referee Frank Flynn allowed 7 minutes of injury time and in this period the county champions scored four unanswered points to run out rather fortunate winners by a point. Congratulations from all in Annaduff to Glencar/ Manor on winning the double.

Annaduff Parish and GAA Lotto

At the draw held in Taylor’s of Drumsna, there was no Jackpot winner. The numbers drawn were 8,11,16 and 19. The €50 winner was John Cox, Antfield. The €25 winners were Thomas Reilly, Dromod, Mickey McNabola, Foxborough, Shauna Thornton, Derrycarne and Eimear Quigley, Drumsna. The next draw will be held on Sunday night next in the Brandywell, Dromod with a Jackpot of €2,200.

Connacht Club

Glencar/Manor put up a superb performance before losing by two points to St. Brigids while Eslin despite a poor start came back strongly in Castlebar.

The League Final

The ACL Division 1 Final versus Glencar/ Manorhamilton will probably be held this weekend, check back here later for more details.

Annaduff U12s and U14s trip to Croke Park


A group of 44 of our underage players attended the international rules match between Ireland and Australia in Croke Park on Saturday. A special word of thanks to the coaches and parents who ensured that everyone enjoyed the trip and returned to Annaduff safely and in good spirits despite the match result.

Best wishes to Glencar/Manor in the Connacht semi final on Sunday. A win would be a great boost for Leitrim Club Football. They are well capable of reaching the final.

Division 1 V Drumreilly

We qualified for the League final with a 1-12 to 1-11 win over Drumreilly in Drumreilly on Sunday. This match had everything great scores, terrible misses , two penalties and nine minutes of injury time. The first half was a vey even affair , Drumreilly led by 0-5 to 0-4 after 25 minutes when Annaduff were awarded a penalty however Enda McHugh usually deadly from the spot sent the ball wide. The first half ended with two goals. Drumreilly’s goal in the 29th minute came from the very impressive James Holohan, almost immediately Annaduff came up the field and Colm Cox buried the ball in the Drumreilly net to leave the score at the break Drumreilly 1-5 to Annaduff’s 1-4.There was never more than a point between the sides for the first 26 minutes of the second half before Annaduff got two points in succession in the 58th and 59th minutes from Enda McHugh and Ray Cox. In the final seconds of normal time Brian Fee scored a Drumreilly point to leave the minimum bet the sides. The drama did not end there as Referee James McCaffrey played 9 minutes of injury time. In the 7th minute of injury time Drumreilly were awarded a penalty, Nigel Maguire opted to put the ball over the bar. At the Draw held in Coxs Steakhouse, the numbers drawn were 7,11,13 and 14. There was no Jackpot winner. ACL Division 1 V Mohill

A vital two points for Annaduff in a 1-10 to 1-8 win over Mohill in Bornacoola on Saturday evening. Mohill deservadly led at the break by 1-4 to 0-4 although Annaduff had five wides in the first half however from an Annaduff perspective star players like Ray Cox, Brendan Guckian and Padraic Carroll were playing very well . The second half also showed an excellent performance from David Duignan. This was also a match of two penalties Colm Beirne in the first half sent a Mohill penalty over the bar while in the second half Enda McHugh while not at his best in general play stroked home a superb penalty. Annaduff opened the scoring with a long range Padraic Carroll, Colm Cox added another before a well worked Mohill goal from John McGuinness.Our two other points in the first half were frees from Brendan Guckian and Ray Cox.We opened the second half brightly with points from Brendan Guckian and Colm Cox.Colm Beirne and Sean McNabola exchanged points. Points from Colm Beirne and Ronan Kennedy gave Mohill a three point lead with 15 minutes remaining. Annaduff finished the stronger outscoring Mohill by 1-3 to 0-1 in the final quarter, Ray Cox and Sean McNabola pointed before Enda McHugh ‘s penalty on 49 minutes after a foul on Ray Cox. The boys Mini School League team got their campaign off to a successful start on Tuesday 12th October with wins over The Gaelscoil (4:6 to 3:1), Gortleteragh (4:4 to 0:1) and Bornacoola (6:1 to 4:1).

Death of Brendan Ward.

Deepest Sympathy is extended to the Ward family on the death of Brendan Ward. Brendan played for Annaduff at all grades usually wearing the number 8 jersey. He also played for Leitrim minors. May he rest in Peace.

Congratulations to our neighbours Eslin on winning the Junior title over a much improved Leitrim Gaels, hard luck to our other neighbours St. Marys who put up a good display before losing to Glencar/Manor. Congratulations to Glencar/Manor on their three in a row.

We have 11 points from 8 matches in Division 1 only one point behind league leaders Glencar/Manor. If we win our three remaining matches we would probably reach the league final . Our remaining matches are against Glencar/Manor, Mohill and Drumreilly.
