Division 2

Annaduff 2:14 Aughavas 2:6

Another win for Derek Cox’s men on Saturday after an extremely competitive game of football. Both teams goaled in the opening two minutes giving an indication of the attacking football which was to follow. Annaduff had built up a three point lead by the twenty minute mark when Shane Cox’s net was breached for the second time to bring the sides level at 1:5 to 2:2. Aughavas then took the lead before points from Sean Duignan and Hugh Moylan gave the home side a two point lead at the interval. Aughavas had the better of the opening six minutes of the second half, scoring two points without reply and taking a one point lead, the visitors would score only one more point over the next 25 minutes as the Annaduff defence shut up shop for most of the second half. As the match entered the final ten minutes and the scores even, Annaduff scored three points without reply from Sean Duignan and Adam O Hagan. With five minutes remaining Kenny Cox went on an unstoppable solo run, passed to Alan Glancy who hit the onion bag for the second time in the game. Another point for Adam and a long range effort from Birthday boy and Captain Eoin Gill completed the scoring. Next up Ballinamore.
