W/E 6th August 2017

We opened our senior championship with a comprehensive win over the neighbors in Cloone on Saturday. Frank McNabola opened the scoring for Annaduff in the initial minute with a fine point, Bornacoola registered their first point on the fifth minute which was followed by three unanswered quality Annaduff scores from Frank, Eoin and Gavin. The second quarter was probably Borancoola’s best period, outscoring Annaduff by 4 points to 3 during this time but they were still unable to take the lead, an achievement that eluded the Bors over the entire 60 minutes. Annaduff finished the half strongly with points from Gavin, Alan and Dillon, the margin at half time, two. Bornacoola opened the scoring in the second half coming within a point of Annaduff but that would be as close as they would get and the Bornacoola opener was quickly followed by a goal and a point from Alan, the goal coming from the penalty spot. Bornacoola scored the next two to come within a goal of Annaduff with 15 minutes left on the clock but then came a cracking minute from the McNabola brothers, Sean pointing and Frank hitting the back of the net to leave the margin 7 points. Gavin, Sean Mc, Dillon and Ray completed the Annaduff scorecard.

Family Fun Day 2017:

With just under two weeks to go, tickets for our annual fun day draw are on sale at the moment, and are available from any Club Official, Club Coach , or can be purchased at Tesco in Carrick-on-Shannon.   As people will know the prizes are well worth winning, and the draw will take place in Coxs Steakhouse on the night of the 13th of August.

New attractions;

Along with all of the old favourites, we welcome Coaches from the Leitrim Hurling Board to this year’s Fun Day.  They will be giving expert coaching to the children taking part in the Blitz’s, and hopefully will have a few treats to share with the kids.  Hurling is definitely growing in popularity in this area, and it’s great to see more and more  youngsters from Annaduff linking in with our neighbours in  St. Marys Hurling Club.

We are also grateful to Sgt. Ronan Mooney, for organising a Garda Display and advice stand at the fun day.  This stand will cover Road Safety, Crime Prevention advice, as well as many other Garda related  issues

The Community Centre will be open again next Saturday from 10 am to 11.30 am  to receive used books, suitable for resale at the fun day Book Sale.  Already we have amassed a substantial stock of Books for sale on the day, and they will be let go for bargain prices.
